Help Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic Won't Roam

I just bought a used Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic. I like a phone with a slideout keyboard and this one seemed like the best deal.

I'm on a Sprint Framily plan (which includes unlimited roaming). Saturday, I went to my local Sprint store and had it activated. All was good, as I have good Sprint coverage locally.

This morning, while traveling for work, I noticed that it wasn't roaming. I went for miles without service in places where I would have had service or roamed with my previous phone.

In the settings, under "roaming," I have it set up as follows...

Roaming mode: Automatic
Roaming settings: Domestic Voice and Data checked
Roaming Guard: All checked

Is there anything I missed? Anything I'm doing wrong?
