Help Samsung galaxy s3: Music keeps skipping whilst using pre-installed music app and google play music

Hi, the music keeps skipping when I play music on the pre-installed music app and the google music play app. I have reset my s3 to factory settings but the problem still occurs, Samsung support have asked me to return my phone to them for repair. I can't see how my phone is broken, are there any other fixes that will cure the problem?

It happens when the screen goes off - the phone turns down the CPU too much and it can't keep up. I installed Poweramp from the play store and set the cache to a second or so and it fixed it. Basically the default music app is rubbish.
