So has anyone found a way around this annoying "feature?" To clarify, every band that starts with "the" is stored under "T." The Rolling Stones should be under "R," not "T." Effin stupid. Any way around this other than a 3rd party music app?

Hello ArturoOsito. Welcome to AF. There may well be a work around. A different player beyond stock might be the answer. I know that you can edit each mp3's metadata information removing the THE before the artist or LP name etc. Depending on the number of files.. this could prove very time consuming. But... a sure fix.

It boggles my mind that coders figured out how to properly alphabetize artist names over ten years ago, but Samsung apparently didn't get that memo.

There is no fix other than to switch apps or redo your meta-data. Do yourself a favor and dump Samsung's app abortion in favor of many of the free music apps or even one of the powerful pay apps like PowerAmp.
