Root Serial Number and system/bin/sh

Two things, please help! When I go to setup ADB, in the cmd dialog box it reads it as "Samsung T929" but doesn't show a specific serial number. Am I okay or is that bad?

Then I get to the following line trying to root:

data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh

Then it tells me that it can't find that file or something. Any ideas?

It should be "Samsung T939" and in my case no serial number is displayed and it works flawlessly.

I believe try3 doesn't properly work after the OTA. If root is what you want you should consider ODIN one of the many ROMs out there.

Hey thanks for response. Yeah, it was showing me "Samsung T939" I guess. I was just typing from memory.

After I make this topic, I did read that I could just use ODIN. I didn't know that before so now I will be set. I am trying to kill the battery right now so I charge it completely while turned off, as the instructions tell me. Then I hope I can do it!

Er... I think you're supposed to be FULLY CHARGED when you ODIN, and *THEN* totally drain the battery and charge while off ;->
