Help should be simple... audible notifications/alerts

On my legend, if i miss a call, text or email (because my phone is in my backpack) I'd like to hear a "beep" or something to remind me to have a look at the phone. I don't want to have to be constantly looking at my phone to see what's come in.... is there an app that will do this for me. The phones settings doesnt offer this does it?, i mean, i looked.... but maybe im overlooking something.
