What is the general guidelines for fair phone swapping online with a member here that isn't local to me?

I don't think it's fair for one person to have to send his/her phone out without the other person doing the same. Just wondering what would be fair for both parties.

It's also something I was wondering about, I always used well known sites to do my online buying. Maybe one of them could put the item on ebay as a buy-it now for the other person?

I'm curious to read answers.

Third party trades work best, preferrably someone with a high feedback on ebay and someone who is both well known and respected in this community.

Yeah, I have a very good feedback on ebay (100% with 123 transactions since: Feb-14-02 on ebay). The person wanting to trade with me doesn't have an ebay account and only has a post count of 51 here. I guess that's not very reassuring.

I guess if the deal goes south I could report the ESN as lost stolen. Would that make it useless even it he already activated it?

10 yrs ago.. i was selling my 4 tires and wheel of my car...
it was on another forum for that make of car.
I said I was interested in selling them..
a dude for the other side of the country said he wanted it.
we agreed on $1200...
he sent me the money first...I promised to ship out the next day.. after the check cleared (cashiers check).
He sent the check!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it cleared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
of course I sent it.. and even emailed him the pic of me dropping them off at the UPS.

all went well...
I still cant believe he sent me the money first! I was very impressed!
