Use DLNA LG P690 to Remotely Access Home Network

Is there any way to remotely access my home network with my DLNA LG P690 device? Skifta doesn't work as my internet provider (AT&T Uverse) blocks a port or something. I can only use it within the home.

Are there any good apps I can use to access my music on my laptop when I'm away from home? Google Music kind of blows, so that's out. I'd also like to access my movies and stream them as well.

Any suggestions, settings, tips, apps are welcome.
