Used Phone Buying Advice

Hi,
I was recently planning on getting a new phone to replace my T-Mobile Comet. I was looking at 3 possible choices:
1. Samsung Galaxy s2
2. Htc Amaze 4g
3. Lg G2x (Optimus 2x)
No matter which phone I buy, it has to be used and under $300. I found a Lg G2x on Craigslist in my town used for $250, and I thought that would be a good deal. However, after reading several articles about the problems that phone has, im a little bit scared. If i go to see the phone, what problems should I look for? Also, is the phone ever worth it? Or should I wait for a Galaxy or Amaze to show up? I really like the look and specs of the G2x, but I'm not sure after reading about the problems...have they been fixed by now?

1. You will not find a S2 anywhere near $300.
2. Can't speak about the Amaze - I have no experience with one.
3. We've had 3 GX2 phones in the family since they came out and had no problems with any of them.
