Announced today:

AppleInsider | Verizon undercuts AT&T, reduces monthly voice plan by $29

I found this line most interesting:

Verizon officials believe that metered bandwidth costs will be beneficial to most customers, who do not use large amounts of data every month. Lynch said the average customer's bill would be lower if they paid for what they actually use.

I think this is disengenuous personally - Verizon expects us to believe they are making this change to reduce revenue...? As more and more people move to data-capable devices, data use will increase, not decrease. All-you-can-eat plans would be helpful. Billing by the byte will not.
