First when I hope sdk setup, I don't get an error, it wants to intall 15 things. Secondly, when I type "adb shell" I don't get anything about the server being out of date or daemon starting successfully, I just get "error: device not found".
Can't seem to get the device found in recovery, I've tried both methods, and just keeps saying device not found. Any ideas, lots of stuff on phone don't wanna lose by factory restarting.
I've tried 2 SD card as well, an 8GB from my Omnia and the 2GB from Verizon.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Btw my phone is found via Andriod Screen Monitor everytime, if that helps. I use this to take screen shots in the past.
Also have SDK, and JDK installed with Windows vista 32bit
make sure you add the part about installing busybox... I did not do it and of course I got it to go into adb recovery once and cant get back there now... so I am sol for my busybox for a bit... but thanks for the vid it least got me wifi tethering and superuser installed

thanks for the video. Still doesn't work for me. I have tried everything! Two computers, 4 different sdcards, two different cables. With HTC sync, without it. With SDK usb drivers, etc. etc.
First root attempt. EASY AS PIE. Thanks so much for this great video guide, got it rooted and I'm stoked. Have your "unroot" guide added to my favs for when the official updates come out! Thanks so much!\
edit::: I am running Window 7 64 bit for all those having troubles. Follow his guide exactly! Perfection!
