VLC Stream & Convert

First of all - thanks for the great app.

Vlc stream & convert is working like a charm for me. Now I have been trying to get Live TV to work via VLC S&C

My VLC is running with this command:
Code:
/usr/bin/vlc -I dummy -v --extraintf=http:logger --http-host=0.0.0.0:8082 --http-album-art --video-on-top --dvb-adapter=1
--dvb-adapter=1 because I have two adapters and #0 is busy because of mythtv.

Then I made jim.m3u file to match with my local area tv station
Code:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:1,Jim
#EXTVLCOPT:dvb-bandwidth=8
#EXTVLCOPT:program=177
dvb-t://frequency=682000000
When I open the jim.m3u file with VLC S&C client on my android - nothing happends on phone.
VLC servers logs this:
Code:
0x1048c10] dummy interface: using the dummy interface module...
[0xcf71c0] main playlist: stopping playback
[0x108bf70] dvb access warning: CAMInit: opening CAM device failed (No such file or directory)
[0x109bf20] main stream error: cannot pre fill buffer
[0x7f1180008b90] main input warning: cannot create a stream_t from access
If I open VLC with this command on my server
Code:
/usr/bin/vlc -I dummy -v --extraintf=http:logger --http-host=0.0.0.0:8082 --http-album-art --video-on-top --dvb-adapter=1 ./jim.m3u
VLC starts and LIVE TV is working.. Can someone help me with this ?

Moto Photon
App installed and connecting to pc via external ip address.
Firewalls turned off.
Router has every port possible already forwarded.
Error 0 upon playback on Device.

I am having trouble getting this to stream over the internet.

I am able to connect to my pc, browse and que files but as soon as i click play it just sits in an endless buffering loop with every so often giving me either "Error 0" or "Cannot play:too many errors" (why it still says that even in debug mode is beyond all logical sense, lol)

I have followed every guide this "developer" put on his website but still am unable to stream via internet(Note to the Dev; Instructions are useless unless you put a troubleshooting guide along with it.) Ive tried every combination of video settings, converting from pc, http, rtsp, this app simply does not stream over the internet. There is nothing else i can see to do based on the developers "guides" and would appreciate someone who has had this issue and somehow fixed it to contact me please?!

The thread is a bit old, but it seems appropriate enough.

I'm trying to use VLC Stream & Convert to (obviously) stream music from my PC to my phone. Everything seems to work just fine. I can browse the file structures of my computer flawlessly. The remote function works just fine. But when I opt to stream using VLC Media Player (1.1.1, Windows XP SP2) I cannot seem to get audio to play on the phone.

I've also tried VLC HD Remote (which offers the same options), and get the same issues. Is there a problem somewhere?

Has anyone managed to get VLCSC working on Android 4.0.x ICS? I've always had this app working since Froyo up to Gingerbread, but it seems with the latest security measures for ICS, I can no longer get it to work via VPN streaming. Wifi still works, however.

It's a shame this project has been abandoned as this is one of my favorite apps. I wonder if someone would be willing to takeover because it's nice to be able to stream content off your computer from anywhere in the world. I remember camping out in the mountains a long way from home and was streaming a movie off my computer with no problems. It was soooo sweet!

I paid for the VLC Stream and Convert Pro and installed it on my ASUS TF300 tablet.

It installed ok and I can launch it.

I have followed the setup instructions and I know my VLC on my pc has its WEB interface configured and is reachable by my PC's browser at localhost:8080

Instructions I followed are at the setup web site:
traveldevel.com / vlc-stream-convert / setup

What for the life of me I can't figure out after installing this Application
are the above web page instructions that say:

- Wireless home network (if phone and computer are connected just scan your local network from the app)

Start the app, press the menu button and open the "Connect" dialog.

When I start the app All I get is a VCR type of controls at the bottom... I do NOT see any sort of MENU Button ???

Does this app actually run on a Tablet??? Or as I'm suspecting it only runs on Android Phones?

The problem is that this app has not been updated for more than 2 years now. VLC has changed, and so has the Android OS. But I think it hasn't worked since VLC changed some ways to interface with it and the developer is not there to make the necessary updates.

By the time you figure out it is not working, you will not have the option to refund. I'm just here to let you guys know this so you can save your money. It worked for a brief while, and with the right settings, I was able to stream from home, and away from home on data and over wifi on Android OS 2.3. But unless you are willing to run a 2 year old version of VLC, and possibly use an old phone, it's not going to work.

I paid good money for this app, but the developer seems to have just disappeared although he is probably still making an nice income by selling this app that doesn't work for most people. He calls himself "Travel Devil" and is quite the traveler.

Just noticed VLC S&C has been updated on the Play store to support VLC 2.0.X! I've been using the old app happily on Gingerbread for years with VLC 1.X. It'll probably be a while before I can upgrade/test the new VLC S&C 2, but I invite others to dive in & beta test it for me. ;)

VLCSC LIVES!!

I'll give it a shot this weekend if I remember. From what I recall, the setup was rather involved.
