Volume button

After I have turned off the sound and vibration using the volume button and turn the sound back on
the "notifications" and "system" seem to stay on mute.

Is there no way to link these things so that the volume button controls everything within the same proportions as you left it last time. So if the ringer is on 100% and notifications on 50% then it goes back to the same settings after you turn the volume up again???
