Help Water damage while charging?

Last night there was some water spilled on my dresser and i left my galaxy s 3 lying in it, charging, all night long. I woke up and the phone was hot, saying "sim card unrecognizable." I unplugged it and it turned off. Water damage indicators are both red...submerged it in rice. Hoping the battery took most of the damage but it doesn't seem good. Is it gonna be okay? :'(

Welcome to the forums Nikki.
Hopefully it will be OK but you can never know
Just don't be tempted to put the battery back in too soon. Leave it for as long as you can.

If the battery was damaged from the water will it compromise the device when I put it back in?
