Weird situation involving messaging replica, possible virus

Hello.

My sister has a SAMSUNG Galaxy FAME and today she told me about a strange situation she's encountering. She says some friend of hers told her she's been sending some messages to him through hotmail messenger, even though she sent those messages to another person through facebook. The messages in question are completely random and from separate dates.

How weird is that? Is this some kind of virus or just a messed up misunderstood situation? Is it even possible?
