Only took 3 days for the Republican leadership to obliterate their promises on earmarks.
So much for fiscal responsibility.

Wait for them to crappily regulate the financial industry (again)Maybe this time around it will only take them 4 years to drive the country into a real full blown depression.
well lets not forget that Obama promised it first.

Does this really surprise anyone?? Bush and the republicans went crazy spending money we didn't have and now Obama and crew have tripled their efforts in less than 2 years. Anyone who thinks this mess is going to be solved by DC is seriously delusional. Both parties are to blame and have been for a long time. Anyone who thinks differently is a party hack and is part of the problem.
The solutions begin at the state and local levels. The states need to start taking a stand and telling the feds to go pound sand with all their unConstitutional laws and regulations. How about states start opting out? Stop sending money to the beast in DC. It's time to dismantle leviathan piece by piece if we want to save this Union.
I mostly agree with this. I do think that for ever mistake a republican makes a democrat will make 4...and they are far worse....and they will continue the bad choices of the republicans instead of letting them expire.
Truth be told the people are not united and this means one thing; it's not a question of if America will end, it's a question of when.

The new congress doesn't start it's reign until January. So don't blame the new ones, blame the lame ducks that are doing everything they can to screw us
You're wrong, but I don't have time pull this mess apart. The president can't earmark, he can only veto bills containing earmarks. However, your friendly neighborhood Congresscritter attaches earmarks to bills that the president can't really veto. Will the president really not fund the troops? Nope, that is why bills to fund Iraq and Afghanistan are larded with pork.
Lets see, the state of the economy today is largely due to financial de-regulation and the repeal of Glass-Steagall act both of which have Republican fingerprints all over them. The Iraq war has cost us around $1 trillion was launched primarily by Republicans. And lets not forget that part of the reason why the deficit has ballooned under Obama is that he put the costs of Iraq and Afghanistan in the budget as opposed to Bush pretending that somehow they didn't count towards the deficit. So you just go ahead and keep believing that the Republicans are better. I'm sure that when the TSA implements mandatory colonoscopies for any travel within the US, you'll feel better because the TSA is a Republican creation.
You're wrong, but I don't have time pull this mess apart.

Typical, when you are confronted with facts you run off or try to blame someone else. You offer no solutions or suggestions.
I guess it's hard to put yourself aside and see the world differently. America started off with good intentions but now look at what the greed of a few has done to the many.
A smart person is one that can change their mind to adjust for the course where as a stupid person is full speed ahead, finger in the ears, blinders on, right over the Grand Canyon.
That's why I'm conservative and not liberal.

You really make no sense.
Are you telling me that you subscribe to an ideology that prevents you from altering your direction based on circumstances.
That's like saying of look, there is a bear in the middle of our lane and you reply with...I am a Conservative, full speed ahead.
Compromising is when you have $1 and you and your wife/gf/bf wants to share an ice cream cone costing $1 but you want chocolate and she wants vanilla, that when you compromise for both of you and get 50% of each in one cone.
Do you run your household budget by compromising when it comes time to pay your mortgage or bills?
Does your Boss say let's compromise when it's time for raises and promotions by always giving you the lesser of the deal?
I can't help but to think that mindset was probably against electricity and and thought people were actually witches and BURNED them alive.
Where was your CONSERVATISM when BUSH blew the surplus budget in his first term leaving you in a deficit? It's funny that the RIGHT wing was NOT all OVER TV/RADIO then. I did not see you guys MARCHING then.
It's interesting that after all the ****ed up shit Bush and the Republicans left you with that just short of half of you STILL voted for them in the last Presidential election to elect Palin/McCain.
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you guys?
Lee Atwater said it best when asked how do you get these poor white people to vote against their economic interest...he said we just tell them it's about FREEDOM and LIBERTY and they vote with their FEELINGS.
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

I'm not looking forward to the election 2012 as it will not fix a damn thing.
www.washingtonpost.com said:Only three days after GOP senators and senators-elect renounced earmarks, Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl, the No. 2 Senate Republican, got himself a whopping $200 million to settle an Arizona Indian tribe's water rights claim against the government.
byteware said:Did no one actually read what it was?
www.washingtonpost.com said:Typically, Congress "authorizes" big water projects in policy-setting bills that promise funding in future legislation. Kyl's measure started out that way but it morphed behind closed doors into a bill that actually provides the money.
The bill, passed unanimously on a voice vote Friday after most senators had left Washington for the week, vaults his, Baucus' and Bingaman's projects to the front of the line instead of having to compete with other projects for limited Interior Department funds.
Yeah I did, did you?
I'm all for the government paying what it owes, but lets at least not short circuit the regular process just so Kyl's state can get to the money faster. This was a backroom deal to benefit Kyl's constituency and it was slipped in at the last second when nobody was around to object. Why not follow a normal process?
