What anti-malware apps and tricks do you use?

Generally speaking, there's not any need for antivirus/antimalware software on Android. You'll be safe if you only install software from legitimate sources (Google Play, Amazon Appstore) and pay attention to the permissions each application requests. There's some good info on analyzing permissions here, but in general a flashlight app that wants access to your contacts list would be a red flag.

Also keep in mind that Google scans all of the applications made available through the Play Store. Android also has an option (Settings > Security > Verify apps) that will additionally scan applications that you sideload from other sources (like Amazon).

So use a bit of common sense and you'll be just fine. :)

Common sense is the best one.

For example, if you don't want malware, don't pirate, don't install apps with dodgy permissions (why would a flash light need access to contacts for example), etc.

No problems web surfing too since Windows malware and viruses don't affect Linux/Android. MTP protocol also prevents auto transfer of such stuff when connecting the phone to a PC.
