Whats going wrong with my Internet usage?!Support

    So I've had my DHD for 3 days, done a little 3G browsing the usual stuff Facebook, emails etc but nothing more as I used my home wifi for the widget and app downloads.

    But today I got a text from Vodafone saying I was near my internet usage limit for the MONTH! Within 3 days!? I have a 750MB limit, which the chap in the shop assured me was enough to keep me happy as 'no one ever goes over that.' I was happy with that even though my previous contract was unlimited internet as he said it would be ok.

    All I can think of is the email syncing, so turned that off. But what else could be causing me to go over the 750MB limit within 3 days? Surely thats a huge amount to be used!?

    That's a crazy amount of data for 3 days, have you been listening to internet radio, streaming video or syncing with something like dropbox?

    You should download 3G watchdog to monitor your usage and when at home turn wifi on to save on 3G data usage.

    You should contact Vodafone to check in case the text message was a mistake.

    Yep. Get 3G watchdog as has been said. Always have wifi on so that it automatically connects to your home wireless. Turn off ALL syncing then turn it back on as you need it ONLY! Preferably do manual syncs.

    I had the same problem. Check your battery usage... If the Calendar app is using MORE battery than your Screen, your Facebook contact sync is probably ****ed. My contact sync with Facebook for Sense was syncing constantly despite being set to do it once a day.

    How does one check battery useage. I have a similar issue. My data rate went up 19mb in 24 hours. Ive only checked my emails a few times.........

    Settings/About/battery ..... you can check what's been using all your battery.

    Downloaded 3g watchdog and no sign of any 3g usage out of the ordinary. Used just over 1mb today, 0.2% of my monthly usage allowance. Vodafone must be having issues..

    lol.. i got the exact same problem when i first got my DHD. I'm on Three btw. The third day I had the phone I almost exceed my 500mb data. Called up Three and yelled at them. LOL. And they say maybe is my phone problem. I don give a damn so I upgrade my data to 1gb and everything works fine now. =D

    Download the watchdog, it will probably show you that you're using nothing at all...

    Try TrafficStats. It breaks down the traffic into apps, making it easier to find a specific app running wild.

    I installed Call Meter NG on dad's desire a few days ago, and it some how managed to find out his usage for the last month (as in usage before installing the app).

    This will at least tell you if you have actually used 750mb's in the last month or if Vodafone are making it up (install it today though as it'll reset on the 1st of the month

    That must be the same as 3g watchdog then, I dont need to see what app is using what, just how much in total. In 4 days I have used 1.2% of my 750mb limit so I think Vodafone are talking out of their arses ;)

    I'm not so sure they are. I am connected to Wireless for about 75% of the day, and the usage app is saying I've used 300mb's of 2/3g data in a month.

    I do however have 2 email accounts, facebook, weather and market auto updating every 2 hours (15 minutes for email), and use google maps quite a lot.
