Xiaomi Mi 10T series announced with 120Hz and 144Hz displays

Whenever we see a smartphone that comes with a fast refresh rate, we usually associate those with high-end flagships and expensive devices, but Xiaomi is hoping to bring fast refresh rates to the masses as they have announced their new Mi 10T series that depending on the model you choose, will come with either a 120Hz display, or an even faster 144Hz display.

144Hz refresh rate, that seems like a rather arbitrary number for a screen refresh rate. And would anyone actually notice any difference between 120Hz and 144Hz? Myself with my eyes, I can't notice any difference between 60Hz and 120Hz in a screen refresh rate.
