Help Text Message Issues. Order out of whack and indicator stuck on 1 new message

So I'm having two text message issues, wondering if anyone else is having this also.

First problem is the following. When, I'm looking at my text messages in conversation view, sometimes it screws up and loses track of the order of the conversation. For example, I'll reply to a text message, then my friend will reply back, but instead of putting my friends reply after my message in the conversation, it puts it before mine. Here is an example of what I mean.

Normally:
Me: hi
Friend: whats up
Me: not much, how are you
Friend: just hungry.
Me: lets go eat lunch
Friend: okay, pick me up

Abnormally:
Me:Hi
Friend: whats up
Me: not much, how are you
Friend: just hungry
Friend: okay, pick me up
Me: lets go eat lunch.

So, if you notice in the Abnormal category, my friends reply saying "okay, pick me up" to having lunch with me, got put before my reply asking to go have lunch, even though I sent it first, the order of the conversation got out of whack.

Okay second issue I'm having, lets say my friend sends me a text message, my message indicator lets me know I have 1 new message. Okay great, I check my new message, but the stupid indicator keeps telling me I have 1 new message. It never goes away, unless I manually go in, and delete the ENTIRE conversation in-box. that sucks, because now I lost my entire conversation. The indicator should just disappear after I check the message and reply, but it just stays there forever telling me i have 1 new message even though I checked it already!!!!!

anyone else with these problems? is there a software upgrade? is it the phone? is it t-mobiles end?

Yeah, I've had this issue too!! not huge deals but still kind of annoying sometimes. With the message waiting indicator I've found that it seems to only stick sometimes when I use the notification bar to check the message rather than clicking the message icon...and then if it is stuck it usually goes away after another text comes in.

Don't know anything about why but I thought I'd chime in...

The message thing happens when the time you send and the time they reply are the same. So, if you send at like 6:51 and they ping back fast at 6:51 also, you are probably going to have their reply go above your message. I pre ordered an Evo to see if it was all the hype and when I was trying it, I noticed that same issue. It's got to be a Android issue. I ditched Sprint though and came running back to T-Mo. :)

I ditched sprint too. After 1 week of horrible horrible customer service, and a phone that was falling apart, I said screw this, I'm going back to t-mobile, where they treat you with kindness.

I don't even know how sprint is in existence with their horrible customer service, dropped calls, and phones that fall apart.

I've had the text message problem as well. I use Handcent app for my texting tho. I did on my G1 and am now on my slide. I would suggest if its getting to be really annoying, download one of the texting apps. Its definitely customizable and same with chomp sms, the handcent widget has the message counter and I've never had any problems with it.

this happens on almost any phone, the work around i used was to uncheck "get network time" in time and date settings and then recheck it - sometimes it gets a little out of sync of time.

or the easiest method i used was to manually set my time to a min earlier. problem solved!

i admit its a little odd if you travel and cross time zones but just set it to auto. and when you get back home just set it again to a min earlier.

I had the opposite happen. My messages were arriving out of order but it only seemed to happen in ChompSMS. I thought it was an app problem and I searched and found this thread. When I saw your message I checked my time/date setting and the Automatic date and time box was unchecked. I checked it and that solved the problem. Thanks! :)
