Anyone Receive a 12.8MB OTA Update Today?

I was on 2.1v3 and received the software update this morning around 7:00am. I'm in North Texas.

Firmware version
2.1

Baseband version
2.42.01.04.27

2.6.29-8a03cb9a

Build number
2.37.605.4 CL 185970 release-keys

Software number
2.37.605.4

Don't have a clue what might have changed. It all seems the same as before the update.

Well, my v3 leak has the following (Have not rcvd the update yet):

Kernel Verision

The next thing we need to find out is if it updating the bootloader. This would more likely than not require a full flash and cause data loss. I didnt notice OP saying that he had a full wipe but if you are still reading, did it or was your data still there ?

Hopefully someone who know this stuff more than I can tell by deconstructing the file when it does get captured.

I doubt that anyone with root will apply this though some may be crazy enough to try.

I received it this morning and installed it. Noticed nothing different so far. Didn't fix the 50% without signal bug as I had to do the airplane trick again after the auto reboot. I am a newbie and am not rooted or on a leak version. If that helps anyone. Not sure what they fixed.

Be nice to know what the Hboot on your device is now vs what it was before

Ok, so:

1. The radio (baseband) has been updated, which means you should be very careful about not pulling the battery during the OTA update (or running it with a very low battery) because a radio flash is one of the times when it's easiest to brick your phone.

2. Kernel version hasn't changed, which is to be expected, but also the kernel build (8a03cb9a) hasn't changed, which means there aren't any fixes or improvements in that part of the software. (Not sure how they would fix the silent call bug without updating the kernel, so I'm eager to hear whether it's actually fixed.)

3. The change list ("CL") is 185970, and the previous one was 165907. Not sure how HTC keeps those lists, but for comparison, leak v1 was 134869, leak v2 was 140744, and leak v3/RUU/previous OTA was 165907. So I assume there are fewer changes than there were between v2 and v3, but more than there were between v1 and v2.

Has anyone noticed anything specifically different after the update?

Well I installed the version that someone got from the OTA so I didn't have to wait. I am not rooted either.

Ok thats good. If you installed the OTA zip and were not on a leak before you may still have the old bootloader. Boot your phone by pressing and holding VOL down plus the end key and let us know what your hboot version is and if it says S-OFF or S-ON at the top.

1.47.0000
s-on

So here is the first report we have has about someone with the 1.47 bootloader and this OTA DID NOT replace his bootloader. We need for anyone else who may have a non-rooted(or rooted for that matter) 1.47 or older bootloader that received this and didn't get the 1.49 bootloader.

Incidentally you can root if you wish.
