Beautiful Widgets on Hero running 2.1

It might be that you're not seeing all the protected apps on the new firmware (happens a lot). Can you see every other app you've looked for?

I can see it on 2.1 (although it is a custom ROM, to be fair).

I'm not sure how you go about fixing this on a stock phone though.

Yes it does work on a Hero and very happy with it. No live wallpaper, thats ok.

Great program! Touch the clock and it brings up the app for time, world time, stop watch and timer. Calendar brings up the calendar and touch the temp and it brings up the weather. Eliminated the need for 3 apps in my home screen and with the settings I put in it does not drain hardly any battery. Been unplugged for 3 hours, many emails, 2 phone calls, voice mail and only used 4% battery. That will definately change later with more heavy usage of the phone.

Wasn't Beautiful Widgets pulled from the Market some time ago due to a C&D from HTC? That could explain a lot.....

edit: it's definitely available in the Market in both paid and free versions and is being regularly updated, so presumably the aforementioned issues with HTC have been resolved.
It was pulled because of the design of the flip clock which was identical to HTC's. When it was changed, it was allowed back on the Market.

Now, though, you can download a skin for the Beautiful Widgets clock named h7c which is... identical to HTC's flip clock :D :D
