I have a voice mail from my son I've been re-saving for a couple of years now and was wondering is there anyway I can save to my droid. If I could save it is a wav file or some other format I could then move it to my comp to keep forever.

Anyone know of a way to get this done?

Thank you

Verizon's Visual Voice Mail allows you to long press on a message and then forward by email. I'm sure this would accomplish what you are wanting to do. The app is free, but you do have to pay something like $2 or $3 per month for the service.

There are a couple other Visual VM apps on the market, but I have not used them and don't know how well they work. If you don't want to pay the monthly fee, you may wish to check out one of those.

Will that allow me to transfer the voice mail to comp in a format I can listen to at anytime?

I haven't tried it before, but I would assume so. Because it's being sent in an email, it would almost have to be in a format that can be listened to on a computer. In fact, you could even copy the file to your phone as well.

I just attempted to do this and it forwards it as an .ogg file. There is a link in the email for a free downloadable media player to listen to it. However, I'm sure you could convert the file to something like .mp3 to use on almost any device. In fact, I bet that this media converter would do just that: Format Factory - Free media file format converter .

Use Google Voice. It is free.

He's not asking about new voicemails being savable. He has an old voicemail he's hoping he can somehow download now after the fact. I don't use Verizon's Visual Voicemail, so I'm unsure, but on other android phones you can have it "sync" your voicemail. I would hope that you doing this would add that voicemail to your visual list so that you can save it. Before attempting to do so it may be a good idea for you to simply put your phone on speakerphone and use your computers mic to record it just in case.
