I will be receiving my Black Leather case w/kickstand by tomorrow confirmed by my fed Ex tracking #. I bought this case because I think leather just ads a sleek professional look to a phone. Beyond that, it's the only one that has a kickstand which i knew I'd want after seeing my sister's EVO. Overpriced? Definitely but it's one of the more unique cases and thus my choice for must have Droid X case.

You do realize there are only a handful of cases that will be released in or around the X's release date yes?

Personally, I went with Amzer's Argyle case, as I feel VZW's offerings are yet again overpriced.

I realize a great many things in this world and this is one of them. ;) Of course with "handful" being more than 1 or 2, I would like everybody's feedback. Especially those who have received their case already.

Is this the case that has textured leather?

I have a a Body Glove Scuba case with kickstand on my BB and I luv this case. It is smooth leather with a adjustable kickstand/clip.

I have contacted Body Glove and they don't offer it for the Droid X yet, but I'm gonna wait for it cause I luv it just that much.

So, what model is your's and where can we get it (one with a kickstand)?

where can we get one with a kickstand...have searched but all are on preorder...

I've only seen it listed by VZW. Either visit your local store and get lucky, call and speak to a Sales rep about selling you one early, or wait until Thursday.

I ended up preordering an Amzer Luxe Argyle cover to get me by until I see some better offerings from 3rd party manufacturers.

Naieve question, but is a screen protector going to be needed since it uses Gorilla Glass? Or is "Gorilla Glass" marketing BS just like Retina Display?

Neither GG or the Retina Display are actually BS. GG does improve the glass's durability and scratch resistance by a good bit: it will still scratch and shatter though (there are threads over in the Droid forum concerning this). If you aren't planning on keeping it in your pocket (aka getting a holster) and you are the most careful person in the world.... I'd still recommend looking into a screen protector. Something like Phantom Skinz will provide pretty much the exact same clarity, touch-feel and responsiveness as the regular screen: it's almost silly not to have one.

Better safe than sorry.

Received my leather kickstand case just now via FedEx. Can't really tell how great it will be until i get the phone. Leather is smooth and not textured and kickstand was a little sticky to get out but it works. I'm hoping the 2 pieces that snap together will hold together better once the phone is in place. Box came with droid branding as did the anti-glare screen protectors.
