Hello everyone!

I have enjoyed reading all your threads about Motorola's newest monster. I wanted to make a post asking for your feedback so far. Motorola is going on a large push to gather your thoughts and opinions. We would like to know any complaints, issues, suggestions, etc. This forum is also a great place to ask your unanswered questions :) I will make every effort to get back to you!

Can you answer the BIG question of the day? Is the plastic film behind the screen that is noticeable when you open the keyboard supposed to stay on or be removed?
 
BIG answer of the day: The plastic film is part of the protection that comes with retail packaging. It is intended to be removed :)
 
First off - I absolutely love my Droid! That said, can anything be done with the light amount when in the media dock? I have done everything I can think of to turn it down and it is still to bright. Also would it be possible to turn the lights dimmer/off on the 4 buttons on the side when in the dock?

I appreciate you opening this up and wish I could give you a more serious question or complaint but I just love this phone and can't think of anything that you don't already know about (the camera focus issue). It's all been great so far.

Sweet, how do we know that you are affiliated with moto?

edit: let me expand on that. You have no profile as of this writing. What methodology is your input into Motorola?

For all we know, you are just someone with 26 posts and will not forward to moto. For all we know, you are a Sony phone owner looking for how to improve a product :)

Great question, Lisa! On the media dock home screen there is an icon that looks like a light bulb. After touching the icon the brightness level dramatically drops, giving you a "night time" mode.

As far as turning off the 4 front macro buttons, that feature is not yet available. Great suggestion!

To the OP, is there a way to post bugs to a formal public bugzilla? oh, and how do I get the car charger/dock that is on the moto site, the VZ dock doesn't have a charger they say

Hence the edit on my post on the methodology for the input to moto.

Generally, great thread, but as an engineer, I have to ask the hard questions! :D
 
I have a question for Moto. Verizon actually couldn't help me with this one. Some websites that I want to visit in the Droid browser (Boston.com in particular) will automatically redirect me to the mobile version of their site although I want to browse the full version. They have no link on their mobile version to switch over to the full version.

I've read elsewhere that Sprint Android phones give you the option to view in mobile or force regular view. And that the BB Storm shows the full webpage. Why isn't there an option in the browser settings to force a normal website load in the browser? Is that something Moto will add?

I agree 100%, Even night mode with screen fully dimmed is still way to bright in a completely dark room for me, Partly due to the 4 buttons being lite up. I was going to buy two docks one for home and one for office, but ended up just taking the one to the office.
 
I can't use it for home alarm clock anyway. I have the clock set a half hour fast. (Psychological thing.....makes me feel like I'm getting up a half hour later.) Can't do that with my phone. So I have the old fashioned (not really that old) radio alarm clock. It works great!

That's what I did, dock is very convenient at the office.

I just plug the droid in at bedside sans cradle. It used to be lit up all night and was a distraction in my deep sleep.

I agree. There should be some form of verification that he's indeed a Motorola Rep. We don't want users buying into solutions that could possibly be incorrect and/or misleading.
