Use Original Droid 3d Gallery to View/Share Pics on Picasa

I can't believe they removed the cool 3d gallery application, which will automatically show your Picassa pics, for the new crappy one.

Here are some instructions and a link to add the old one to your Droid X so you can view and share Picasa pics!

I downloaded and installed the app, After you do you need to go into settings -> accounts -> Google -> sync picasa albums, just like on the Droid. Took me a minute to figure that out. Thanks for the find. Now I am completely happy with my Droid X!!!

Hi, Can you guys tell me if you can still send MMS pictures with the application installed? I recently downloaded a cooliris gallery and it stopped me from sending MMS. I had to do a factory reset. I dont want to do that again.

I have the original gallery app on my droid x removed, also have the original messaging app removed. I just sent a MMS from this gallery app using handcent just fine.

So probably if i kept the gallery and messaging app it would not work. Also, is the gallery safe to remove once rooted?

I froze mine, and everything is fine. If you kept both the stock apps I don't see why it wouldn't work

Is there any way to change the slide show interval for the old 3D app? To me it's way too fast and I'm finding the Picasa pics never come into focus because the full image never gets a chance to load.

I just got my DX today and found out about the gallery issue. Total newbie question but, do I need to have my DX rooted in order to use this?

No, don't need root to install this gallery.

It's a great gallery program. I don't have root access. Is there a way I can get rid of stock gallery program if I wanted to?

You can't get rid of any pre installed apps including the gallery without root. I tried to get rid of the default gallery, but if you do your camera will not save pictures you take, so you can't really get rid of it anyways.

Do you have the apk or do you need it? If you have it just install it, if not pm me and I'll send it to you. Do not delete the pre installed gallery after you install the old one though, the best option if you don't want to see it is too hide it in the app drawer using LPP.
