Do you miss the BB LED??

Still contemplating the jump to the Droid from the BB Storm.
But the one thing I LOVE about the Blackberry phones is the extremely bright LED in the corner of the phone.

With third-party software, this LED can be set to illuminate in different colors to signify an SMS, a missed call, an MMS, etc..

It is a wonderful feature that I don't think the Droid has.

Any comments on this would be appreciated.

Short answer, yes, I do miss it. BerryBuzz was one of the best apps ever for that phone and made the LED incredibly useful. I miss it.

Touchdown has a customizable led color so I imagine other apps do as well.

yes, I misss berry buzz on my curve 8330. The led was super bright. I could leave my phone on silent and not bother my co-workers with ringtone or buzzing sound. Unfortunately, the Droid blinking notification doesn't catch the eye as easy.

I have the Droid and my wife has a BB... I much prefer the subtle Droid LED vs the bright obnoxious LED for the Black Berry. I make her hide the phone at night so it doesn't light up the room.

If your wanting it for your sms notifications, you can get sms popup and you can change the color of the led to a handful of different colors.

you could have your wife put the phone in bedside mode. No annoying leds at night then.

There's an app called missed call that lets you customize the color of the LED for sms, low battery, missed calls, calendar and more, not emails though. It also allows you to set up repeat notifications.

At first I missed the bright LED and BerryBuzz but I find myself more relaxed now and not seeing phantom flashes anymore...kinda nice

Some email apps automatically assign different LED colors for new messages, based on the account. So far I've seen Green, Blue, Pink?, and Purple, and I believe Yellow is in there as well.

2nd the mention of Missed Call, which is a nice part-way replacement for BB Alerts...the author is working on full Droid features, but it does support SMS, Calendar, Calls, BT, Apps, Airplane, and Battery services...

I let Handcent do my SMS/MMS notifications, and use Missed Call for calls and calendar events...

There is also Missed Reminder, which does SMS/MMS, and Calls.

The Droid has battery notifications...Missed Call just provides them as well if you want more customizability...

Ok, so after reading through all of these posts, the consensus is that the Droid has the same LED ability, just not as bright.

also with SMS Popup you could customize the color of the LED not just what they have listed.
