Hi
I would like to hear from people that have used the Westone UM3X phones on their Samsung Galaxy S.
Are they a great match and do they deliver on sound?
Can the Samsung handle the Westone UM3X(Enough power to drive them?)
Plus any other information you might have in regards to these headphones/cell phone.
Thanks:cool:

Westone UM3X Specifications
Sensitivity: 124dB/mW
Frequency Response: 20 Hz -18 kHz
Impedance: 56 ohms
Driver: Three balanced armature drivers with a passive three-way crossover.

The SGS has pretty great sound quality. I've tested my Galaxy S 16GB with the Mylar X3, Fischer Audio Eterna, Koss PortaPro and the much better MDR-CD3000 and plenty of audiophile-grade flacs.

The CD3k are stellar with it but need a bit more juice... putting my Corda Meier in the way improves things. But even without the Corda the sound quality is outstanding.

Still, the 3k are only 32 Ohms impedance so perhaps you'll need some extra amping for the UM3X.

In any case the overall audio quality of the SGS is excelent.. no background noise, flat, dark silence, good response, tight bass and bright and wide sound (with no EQ). As a bonus it is fairly easy to control the phone while locked (pause/play/skip/volume).

It is a pity that I have to part with this phone because of the non-functional GPS... were it (a lot) cheaper and I'd keep it just for audio. Right now it's going back to the store. Adios Samsung.

But if audio quality is your primary aspect, go for it, you won't regret it.
