Facebook/contacts sync busted--help?

I've set FB to sync contacts, but I have three problems:
  1. Pictures are not sync'd,
  2. Clicking "view FB profile" on any contact just takes me to my own status update screen in FB,
  3. I end up with five duplicate FB contacts linked to each of my Google contacts.

In case any of it is relevant: Captivate, rooted, no custom ROM, default Contacts app, Launcher Pro.

I experienced the same issue. I think it has to do with Samsung's native Facebook sync in the Contacts app. I ended up setting the sync from within the Contacts app and then not selecting syncing of contacts in the Facebook app. Now, the pics sync, etc. But, there is no profile selection from within the Contacts app now. Have to do it within the Facebook app.

The new 1.3.1 facebook app created all the duplicated contacts. I uninstalled it. Shut off the native SNS service. Reinstalled it and it keep duplicating contact over and over. If you look in your contacts under groups with the native app you will see that it doesnt create anyone in the facebook group but if you have the Facebook app it creates contacts in the group "facebook" and then keeps duping them.

I had no problem until I installed it.

I have the native SNS service updating my contact with facebook data now. That really just takes the pictures and downloads your wall.

So using this process, you can nab photos from facebook and update your contacts without changing any of the other data?

I'd like to ONLY take the photos from my friends' profile pictures and add them to my contacts which would then sync/add their photos to my gmail contacts. I don't want to change anything else about their contact information though. Is that possible?
