Android Powered iPhone, you think it will happen?

I am a student in high school right now but this year is my senior year and after that I will be getting on my phone phone plan with at&t most likely. I will be getting the iPhone even if android will not be available for it but I think it would be really could if you could dual boot the original iPhone firmware with the Android firmware so that when you power on the mobile device you can pick which you would like to run. Do you think this will be possible in the near future. Probably around April.

From a technology standpoint my glass is always half full so I always try and maintain the premise of "never say never" because as technology has proven in the past and will continue to prove anything is possible given time and money.

Now from a a commercial standpoint my glass is half empty because I personally feel it "ain't never gonna happen". this is Apple we are talking about who like to "CONTROL" everything and hold everything tightly to their chests and would use every means possible to prevent anything like that remotely happening. this is the way that company is.

The hardware side of thing would probably be a stumbling point but unless some clever geek hacker makes it happen I don't think you will see anything remotely like this anytime soon (really I don't think it will ever happen)

Apple will never adopt Android.

As soon as they hear someone hacked it together, they'll release an update to "fix" it.

but I mean I know that you can install linux on apple computers. If they care THAT much why don't they prevent that?

There's quite a few differences between a computer and a phone.

First and foremost, storage space. I don't think Android and the iPhone OS would both fit on a current model. Future models could have enough space, though.

The PC (not Windows PC, just personal computer) has been around for a while. Dual or Triple booting a Mac could still bring people to buy their hardware, but install other OS's for other needs. For example, Andrew Connell, a prominent Microsoft.Net and SharePoint blogger, uses a MBP that is triple-booted with OSX, Vista, and Windows Server 2008.

How many users would Apple gain by allowing this functionality? I don't think there is enough of a need to allow it. Most people aren't going to use their phone to that degree.

Ok well maybe just maybe it could happen as both myself and others have said on this thread that it may be a hacked version than officially supported but maybe I was just a bit to quick to say I could never see it happen.
