Not wanting to wait for the Froyo update, I went ahead and upgraded to Skyraider 2.5.2 with the 2.05 radio update. Everything went smooth as silk. I used mybackup pro to backup all my apps and data, which also went well.
When I restored all my apps and data though, I got a lot of "Market link not available" when I restored. This means that the apps all restored, but they were not linked to the android market. The apps work fine on the phone without the link, but I wanted to have them auto update. If I go into the android market under downloads, I see all my purchased downloads, but not the free ones I have downloaded in the past.
So, I started reinstalling the apps from the android market. This links the application back up to the android market. Free apps like Shazam which I was grandfathered in with free unlimited tags still work fine after this. It apparently just restablishes the link and updates it.
I was curious if anyone else has hit this issue. Its really easily fixable, but it takes some time.
Otherwise, I am happy to have rooted and now I am on Froyo. I don't think I will go back to the standard Verizon Incredible ROM though. I like the root apps entirely too much.
