It seems like I have heard a few people mentioning the year 1969 when the Droid does something weird.

I just got my first 1969 moment.

Up on the top bar it shows I have a voicemail. When I flip that down to look it says the voice mail is from 12/31/1969.

I think it was from maybe a week or two ago (yeah, I am really, really concerned about listening to that voicemail ASAP...heh).

So I think it is a bit confused.

Maybe one of the Motorola programmers lost some braincells in 1969..?

I am rooted, running BB 0.4 and loving it btw. But that VM arrived before I installed BB.... Hmmmm....

Interesting. I've never seen that before. Something semi-related that you might find amusing though...

Nice!

I like the double-tap there too: 1753 and then right below it "the Americas" which sounds more like the way Europeans referred to the American continent back in the day.

Dude, Poloki, maybe you are right. Maybe it is a voicemail from my father...Back then he would have been about 10 years young than I am right now. I kind of doubt he would have much great wisdom to share with me. :)

I do find it peculiar how the Droid seems to fixate on 1969 whenever it tweaks.

Bryan Adams fan?

muab's dating himself now. ;)
I've been having "1969" problems sometimes on bootup.
In fact, I've embarked on the arduous and long journey of copying the contents of my sd (32 GB), formatting it, and then spitting it all back onto it. (Taking hours.)

True enough. I only have perhaps two or three gray hairs, so if it wasn't for this face of mine I might be able to pull off the youthful look without the help of modern science.

32 gb card... Amazing data storage, incredibly tiny form factor...

Yes...it sometimes seems that our amazing storage capacity advancements have outpaced our I/O speed advancements, eh?

download the app "flux capacitor" from the the market, then load up a kernel capable of 1.21 jigawatts and fire up your GPS then continue to accellerate to precisely 88mph. That should bring your phone back to the future  lol

Righteous!

Full points to Gnath on that one!

:)

"Are we there yet?"

"I'm not sure, I think we might be in the 1980's...my Droid has a mullet..."

...Are we officially starting the 40+ Droid club? lol
Recalling the music and movies of, and technological advances since the Eighties?
I once had a desktop that had a 1.8 GB hdd it it. King's Quest was so much better than the Atari! lol

My first desktop PC had a 10 mb hard drive...sheesh.

And I was like the hdd evangelist telling uncaring souls how the hard drive would revolutionize computing for normal people.

"You just turn the damn thing on and bingo! There are programs you can use...Really. I'm not kidding. No, you don't have to put in a floppy to boot or anything..."

hah.

Simon the Sorcerer was a pretty bitchin game. And way, way back...Ultima 3...god I worshiped that game....

OK so, Unix launched January 1, 1970. Unix is a popular operating system for most servers, workstations and including mobile devices. December 31, 1969 is the DEFAULT or pre-existence time. Blackberry gets more specific in the "logs"screen. Press and hold ALT, then while holding, press: "l" then "g" then "l" then "g". This takes you to the logs screen. Clear all your logs and there will only be 2 logs left. 1 of them with a current date and time, and the 2nd one reads December 31, 1969 @ 19:00 hrs. Some people receive blank emails dated 12/31/1969 and now voicemails. This is a mystery. They're trying to tell us something. Maybe the end of androids, or even yet Unix, is coming soon. Something new and different is around the corner...
