Help Some Issues I'm having

I'm new to the Android phone, having switched from a BB so please bare with me if these questions have already been asked.

1. I have my own business, so I get 100+ emails a day and probably that many text messages too.
Notifications for SMS go off while I'm on a call and it's a bit annoying.
I can't find a way to turn off notifications while on a call.

Maybe I'm blind but I've searched and searched.
I've heard to just use handcent, but surely the developers would make this an option?

2. Was having battery problem issues, installed a task killer and it solved a lot of issues, however I kill them and it never fails within 30 minutes a couple of them turn back on (Sprint Navigation is a consistent bugger)
I have the Background Data disabled

I don't want or need Sprint Navigation
Why does it keep coming back and how can I make it stop?

3. is there a way to delete ALL emails at once?

I'm not sure I can address all your issues but I can tell you what I would do. I'm not too familiar with the stock messaging app since I use handcent but you could consider using handcent since you can "tune' how you want to be notified about incoming text messages and turn off the auto retrieve and notification in the stock messaging app. As far as the battery problem, when you exit an app don't hit the home button, assuming that how you get out of them, hit the back button until you end up back on the home screen and it should shut down. If you are using the program manager widget it should show the program shut down using the back button.
