Replace HTC Lockscreen, an Incredible Find!

Can i have some ideas of what widgets yall have on your lock screen?

cant decide on what would be best for me

I've had WL for a while, so it's changed a few times, but I've had trouble changing my current look.

Top Two Rows: Beautiful Widgets Weather (Full size) with custom skins
Next Row: Nav, Gmail, Browser, Apps Organizer (Handcent, Scorecenter, Clock, Shazam)
Next Row: Custom Slider (Dialer - Disable Interactions - Camera)
Bottom Row: Default Unlock / Volume Slider

You fit all of that on the lock screen?

i was thinking maybe just the power widget lol

haha, like I continue to say, this app has completely changed my Android experience. Being able to have all that on my lock screen really makes using my phone so much easier when I need to access my most important apps/info without much time (eg. while driving).

I also have the app Quick Settings which allows me to hold the Search button at the lock screen and I have access to all my settings, such as bluetooth, GPS, wifi, volume, etc.

I like to keep things un-cluttered. so for me-

I have since moved out the battery widget and the date/time and weather...

so i have the 4 on the bottom-
camera, missed call, flashlight and text. prolly dump flashlight and add my volume widget.

I use the same skin for the weather part. Love it.

Where is your unlock slider?

He probably uses the option to unlock with trackpad or one of the buttons.

I am having an issue using Beautiful Widgets Home Weather with WL. The background images are too small and the clock numbers are not lining up like they should. The small home weather works fine (at least it looks like it does).

Does anyone know what the issue is with BW and WL?

Wow, that's funny. I noticed the custom skin I use for the clock left the weather report and half of the temperature below the BW skin's background and figured it was normal. I never actually used BW on a home screen since I bought it to use with WL. Now I see that is not how it's supposed to look (although part of me actually likes it better!).

Not sure why this would be. Perhaps the lock screen has a different resolution than the home screens and is screwing with the skins?

Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't the set up above defeat the whole purpose of a lock screen? If interactions are enabled, it would look and function just like a regular home screen. If interactions are disabled, then the icons are useless. (Well I suppose you could see how many messages received, etc., but why put the camera and flashlight on there?)

First of all the widgets are great because you have access to weather/sports/news/etc by simply turning the screen on without having to first unlock and find the proper home screen.

I keep the camera slider on my lock screen because oftentimes there's something I see I want to quickly get a shot of and it saves time not having to unlock and hunt down my camera shortcut; it's right there when I turn the phone on. Making it a slider eliminates accidentally turning it on.

As for the shortcuts, the lock screen can't be disabled in Sense, so even if you wanted to go straight to your home screen, you can't. Using WL, those heavily used apps I want access to are there. Sure, I get the occasional accidental open, but it doesn't happen often. The pros of easy access far outweigh the cons.

That makes sense. After reading the forums while waiting to getting my phone, the first app I downloaded was WL, so I have no experience with the HTC lockscreen. The customizable sliders are awesome, and they aren't used in the screen cap, so I was curious about the rationale.

Ah, nice. Yeah, I use the sliders myself (I have two), but I see the benefits of the widgets/apps as stated above.

However you use it, amazing app.

I look at the lock screen as stuff i need fast. on the go ...

Camera- quick picks. you never know ....

missed calls another i need to know. and if there any i just press that widget and it goes right to the call.

text. same as missed calls.

and volume also need it quick if i enter a place i need to turn the phone off. those are my most used apps.

no slider .. just press keypad.

example of a quick picture- If i fumbled for the camera. i would have missed it as i was driving by.
no one was hurt to bad....

Hi living the app the only problem I'm having is that when I unlock the phone using the widget locker, the weather animation does not show up, as if the screen has never been lock.can anybody help me with this, would really appreciate it.

If you haven't already, go into the settings > Look & Feel > on the bottom you will see 'HTC Weather Animations'....see if you have them activated there.

Alright Kevin, you know I love you. We need to start there ;)

I am a very sad little puppy right now. My weather animations went away and I don't get them back. I am reading though these threads and it seems that most people are trying to get where I am, but I just want to go back to the way it was before.

A couple weeks ago I put 2.2 on my phone. Shortly after that I put on Fancy Widgets. Soon after that, I noticed I wasn't getting my animations. I messed around for hours and couldn't figure it out. Then I finally see a post where they say that Fancy Widgets doesn't have animations turn on. Okay... GREAT! Finally found the problem! All set, right?

Wrong :(

I removed Fancy Widget and put my old weather widget on, the one I used before when I got the animations. On the phone under menu > settings > display > Animation I have this set for All Animations.

Under Widget Locker Look and Feel, I have HTC Weather Animations on Any Application.

It's cloudy and raining right now, but my phone doesn't know it :(

How do I get these back? Anything you can advise would be much appreciated.

delete the widget and re-add, it should give you option for it.

You mean the weather widget? I tried removing it and readding it and that didn't work. I even tried to uninstall the program and reinstall from the market and it still doesn't work.

I don't know what's wrong :(

But... there were no options for anything regarding animations when I installed it.
