Help Why do you have to swipe\unlock the phone...

Always wondered why Android has this option. Why does Android require you to swipe\unlock the phone everytime you turn the screen back on? It seems to serve no purpose and can get to be a pain in the butt sometimes. I could understand it if it was for security reasons, but anyone can swipe to unlock my phone so it can't be a security thing.

Anyone ever read or know why Android has to be that way? Or why Google has never removed this?

Just kind of curious....

Just kind of curious....

If you don't want to do that you can download an app call no lock. Also I think the reason for this is if your phone turns on in your pocket it, it will have less chance of unlocking..
