In Windows, you should hear the beep on a connected device and the LG drivers should find it OK. In Windows, open up Device Manager and you should see 2 devices with yellow exclamation marks beside it and the description "LG USB Modem" (I'm going from memory here, so that may not be 100% accurate).

Right click on the 2nd one, click "Update driver software", click "Browse my computer for driver software" then click "Let me pick from a list..." You should see "Android Phone" listed.
Double click this and you should see a list of 3 options. Click on "Android ADB Interface" and click "Next". You'll probably see an "Update driver warning" box, so just click "Yes" to install it anyway.

I see the 2 devices with the exclamation marks saying "LG USB Modem" but I don't see "Android Phone" listed.
I been trying to root this phone for weeks now; going back to steps to see what I have been doing wrong. I'm starting to get frustrated uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and SDK.

HELP!

I had the same problem, since the SDK program updated, you can now add the ADB thing with sdk manager so I got a little confused on what to do. In the end, I ended up installing both LG Eve USB Modem that were listed and it worked. The tutorial said 2nd one but for me it was the 1st one listed that gave me the 3 options. Try that

What do you mean by that?

And no I checked the first one and the second one still didn't see "Android Phone" listed.

I recently rooted my phone about a week ago. The SDK manager automatically adds the ADB file as u install the whole SDK program

Also go to your SDK/usb_driver/android_winusb and open that file with ur notepad.
Under [Google.NTx86] and [Google.NTamd64] add:

; LG GW620
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1004&PID_6171
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1004&PID_6171&MI_00
%SingleBootLoaderInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1004&PID_0FFF
;

So itll recognize ur phone
