Root 2.1 Update 1 Root

Davelosm

Newbie
I've looked around and found very little about this.
After the bug fix on 2.1 for the Milestone, my root is gone.

How can I get it back?
Still pretty new to this stuff so any help would be great.

You can do the same thing you did the first time to root your phone. Or you can use the Universal Androot app which you can download from here.

If you decide to use Universal Androot, choose not to install the Superuser app from the drop down menu. Once rooted, install the Superuser app from the Market. That way you can keep it up to date.

Thanks man. Didn't know that app existed.
It caused my milestone overclock to reboot my phone whenever loading the module, but a reinstall did the trick.

Thanks again

even worse for me, not only have i lost root, i've also lost the ability to recognise the phone as having an SD card inserted so i can't do jack all! Suggestions?

Right now im ready to go and kill motorola, why on earth did i press update?! half asleep i suppose i might have been hoping for froyo!

Edit: sorted now, had to remove SD card and reinsert for it to recognise. Root access back now having downloaded the latest update of easyroot from unstable apps. All is right with the world again but this update was almost like an iphone update.....made nothing better and ruined everything you did have!!

Doooood just reflash the phone with the original SBF file using RSDL! Simple and easy!

i have no idea what you just said to me! im very new/simple with all this, i only use root access really to set the processor to minimum when screens off, take screenshots and quick reboot lol

How did you get root?

What carrier are you with?

What Windows are you on?

It has cured several annoyances for me, particularly the tendency to start playing music for no apparent reason. It made nothing worse as far as I can tell.

To be fair to Motorola rooting is not their problem - if it breaks you fix it, as I see you already did.

After the 3.11 update my phone has been working flawlessly!
