I purchased the Motorola S305 Bluetooth Stereo headset the other day to work with my Evo.
Amazon.com: Motorola S305 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Black): Cell Phones & Service

While I was out walking the doggie, I noticed immediately that with the phone in my left front pocket, if I turned my head in the slightest, the headset would skip and stutter a bit. I was ready to return the Moto until I switched the phone to the front right pocket and the problem was gone!

I'm betting that all the receiver/transmitter bluetooth goodies are in the right side earpiece and that my body was causing the dropouts with the phone on the other side. If I cover the right ear piece with my hand or touch the phone a bunch, the sound will skip. The headset may be just more finicky, or the evo's bluetooth receiver/transmitter isn't very powerful.

In any event, they work fine now as long as the phone is on the right side of my body and I'm not covering the headset or phone with my hand. They're pretty sleek looking and have decent sound.

For $34.99 on amazon, can't beat it!

Charge the batteries? It HAS to be the headset...

My dad's radio (when we ride in his truck) has bluetooth connectivity, and allows for music, calls, etc. to go through (almost standard now days, lol). If I don't shut off bluetooth on my phone, it'll stay connected up to around 50 feet from the truck.

My step mothers BMW (waste of money) stereo, can barely keep connected to my phone 5 feet from the radio.

Different hardware also makes differences in distances, it might very well be the headset as I mention.

Hi all,
Brand new here, brand new to Android too.
Absolutely loving my HTV EVO. Coming from a Touch Pro what a difference. Like night and day.
Just got the S305 and have a question. If I take a call the music pauses and restarts fine but if I make a call I have to power off/on the S305 to get it to resume. Or possibly I'm not doing something right;-) Wouldn't be the first time in the last few days as I get to know EVO, Android etc.
Any thoughts??

Doesn't have to be the headset. My Jabra BT8010 and BT3030 both skip if the phone is too close to my body. Especially if it's in my left pocket when using the headset on my right ear. Works just fine sitting on my desk or in the pack strapped to the rack on the back of my bike. Didn't have this problem with the same headset on my previous phone.
