Questions about Android Tablet

So I got an android tablet pc, and I wanted to know if there is any way for me to get Microsoft Word and Photoshop to work on it. I know I need to get an external, portable, harddrive, but to one those programs, and any others, do I need a different system? I have never used android before, so sorry if this seems stupid.

As far as I know there is no Android/Linux version of MS Word or Photoshop. So your best bet would be to run these applications through some kind of emulator which I don't think exists for Android yet. The linux solution is called "Wine" and there's talk of porting to android, but as of yet, it doesn't exist.

Microsoft Word, perhaps, but Photoshop is far too intensive for a tablet spec device to run it.

Probably the closest you'll get to Word or Excel is Documents to Go... it's compatible with these apps but it's not quite the same.

What about Open Office? Would this work?

Open Office requires Java... and I'm guessing a lot of memory to run efficiently. Open Office is now owned by Oracle and last I heard it's CEO, Larry Ellison, was still feuding with Google. For that reason I'm doubtful that an OO port exists for Android.
