My original Droid is beyond repair (it broke in half), so I am getting a replacement through my Best Buy insurance. I get any phone that is $599.99 or less retail. My main options are the Droid X or the Fascinate. But the Droid 2 and Droid Incredible also are contenders. Who thinks what and why?

My vote would be either the Droid X or Fascinate, not the other 2. The X is everything the Droid 2 is but with a bigger screen, HDMI out, no keyboard, and better camera. The Droid 2 has no advantages over the X.

The Fascinate has a great screen and smaller if you think the X is a little too big. Personally I love the size of the X and I had my doubts about the size before I bought it.

I would personally be very happy with either of those 2, but I would lean more toward the X because typing on the 4.3" screen is just awesome, and personally I like the Blockbuster app that comes with the Droid X and 2 only right now.

Not to mention the X has the best signal, call quality, and battery life of ANY smartphone on the market right now. The build quality is incredible.

First, ask yourself, "Self, so I want a keyboard?" If yes, get the D2. If no, proceed.

"Self, do i want a large phone?" If yes, get the X, if no, proceed.

At that point, it's mainly form factor and UI between the Incredible and Fascinate, and these are both personal preference.Only you can really decide which suits your tastes. As for me, I chose the Incredible and I'm sticking with it.

Self, I don't want a keyboard.

I don't want a large phone, but I do want a larger screen than I had i think. So I think I have narrowed it down to the X and the Fascinate.

I've heard the SF camera takes better pictures, but the X has HDM to put pics on the tv. The X has a larger screen, but the SF's screen looks better. X doesn't have bing but has super ugly UI. Fascinate has bing (but can be de-binged) but has a much better looking UI (my fave of all custom android UI's). It is a complete dead lock for me. Each one has equal pluses and minuses for me.

If possible see if you can look at the screens of the two contending phones both indoors AND outdoors. I think you'll find that the Fascinate screen is incredible indoors but not nearly that good when outside in direct sunlight.

I got a Droid X and I can honestly say that it's probably the best smartphone I've ever owned (and I've owned around a dozen).
