Unable to update to Andriod 2.1 (Hero)

Hi,

I have debranded many Hero's without rooting using Goldcard method.
Ok, so I have a hero on Three network, I installed the generic firmware, so now I have unbranded 1.5 installed, now it lets me do the first OTA update... which is still 1.5.

But when it comes to 2.1 during the install process it will stop and come to an explanation mark, and get stuck at that, when you turn off and turn on again, it just freezes at the Hero logo...

Now like I've said I've done many phones, all of which goto 2.1 fine, even ones originally on Three, but this particular phone is being a pain.

I'm able to get back to 1.5 after the bad flash, but I'd like to have 2.1 on it.

I'd be greatful if anyone could help.

Kind regards
Sam

Now no-one will answer my question as they will think it's already been answered... :-(

Nah... there are always people wandering into the Intro forum to saw hi to new members. The challenge might be that it sounds like you may have a HTC Hero specific question so you may need someone well versed in the Hero to best assist you.

I did a quick search on the HTC Hero "All Things Root" forum and found the following:
