So my mom is business woman and right now she is using Nokia E65. But she really like my Desire and features that smart phone has. So would you recommend Desire Z for business woman and what's your overall impressions about Desire Z. Is it better and faster then Desire?

- Sorry about my bad english :(

The Desire Z is more of a mobile internet/social networking device than a phone. If that is what your mother wants in a phone, she will like it. My personal opinion is that my previous phone (Nokia N97) is a bit better as a phone. The sound quality as a phone is slightly better on the Nokia than the HTC. You can have her try out the sound quality on your Desire and see if she is OK with it. I suspect that the Desire Z would be very similar to your Desire. If your mother likes your Desire more than her phone, she would probably be happy with the Desire Z.

The main differences between the Desire and Desire Z is that the Desire Z has an SLCD screen instead of the AMOLED on the Desire. Also, the Desire Z has faster download speeds than the Desire if your carrier supports it. Then there's obviously the keyboard. Also, note that the Desire Z is amongst the heaviest of smartphones. It is 180g compared to 135g of the Desire. I'm not sure how big a factor this would be. I don't mind the weight, but I do feel it.

WARNING: NOT RECOMMENDED FOR MUMS

The desire z is too heavy. I agree with stuntman, the sound quality is crap. Mums love to talk so they'll be disappointed when they use it as a phone. Your mum will be happy if you buy her flowers instead. Or maybe a nice pair of shoes. Or a shiny pearl earings. Or anything but a desire z.

well she is not only mom, I mean things that she need is to call, sent sms, read and replay to emails, a bit of net browsing and she likes my Desire a lot, I think I still get her Desire Z and tell how did she liked it. :p
Still sound quality is crap? On my Desire sound quality is really good!

I wouldn't say sound quality is crap. I happen to notice that the sound is a bit better on the N97 than on the Desire Z. I mentioned it because you said your mother is currently using a Nokia and I find the sound quality on Nokias to be better than on the Desire Z. I don't have any issues hearing on the Desire Z. It's just something I recall noticing the first day I switched. It's not crap. Just that Nokia is just very good from my experience.

I would definitely have the desire z (yes I am a woman, probably the same age as lots of parents and I do like my tech). It's a great all round phone and I've no issues with sound. The only slight disappointment is that the keyboard doesn't have a separate row of numbers.

If your mom likes the desire she will love the desire z.

At least your mom is willing to give the Z a try. My mom still has a phone that can't send or receive texts. Seriously. :(

I bought it for her and she loves it. Only thing she dont like is green droid when calling person that has no picture :p
Actaully I like Desire Z better then my Desire - It's faster, with keyboard. Only thing that I dont like is that it has SLCD. Actaully I thought that I have SLCD too as my Desire is pretty new (bought it in October - Desire A8181) but compareing my Desire and Desire Z you can see that I have so much better white and black color, so my Desire is AMOLED right?

According to GSM Arena, the Desire has an AMOLED screen while the Desire Z has an S-LCD screen.
