Get ready to re-size to or find wallpapers that are 1080 x 960.

We can finally leave the old 960 x 800 wallpapers behind. :)

I am in the process of re-sizing the few hundred or so that I have to that resolution, without destroying the quality of the image.

VERY SMART, +1.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I wasn't sure what the resolution would be, so thanks for figuring it out. The stock wallpapers are usually ok but I much prefer my own.

So 1080 x 960, in my head I just tried to work out the math, and it sounds right to me, but if anyone else wants to give a triple confirmation, that'd be cool... I suck at math (which is bad; I'm a teacher!), and I don't want to make new wallpapers for nothing!

Oh another thing, can we either start a stickied thread or make a picasa account with a password shared between us that we can upload the pictures to?

Sharing on the forums works OK but if we made a picasa acount and made the images public so everyone could see them, it would be easier to sort and display. Baldilocks, the OP, can make the password and account (or me if you don't want to), and we can share the password with like four of five people on this forum, and if anyone else has a submission they can just post it here and someone with a password can then upload it to picasa.

Forgive my ignorance....never owned an Android phone. (Atrix will soon be my first.) I assume these wallpapers stretch across 2 screens? Is that why its 1080 as apposed to 540?

Yep. I mean, you can do whatever you want with android... the background could be static and the resolution for wallpapers would be the same as the screen resolution, or you could have live wallpapers, or something else, etc, but the most popular (and usually default) thing is a wallpaper that's twice the length, so when you're swiping through the home screens, the wallpaper moves along too in the background. Nothing amazing, but a nice little UI touch.
