Help Issues with a bigger SD Card

Newbie
I bought a Transcend 16Gb Class 6 sd card for my desire.

Because the phone is rooted and running A2SD+ i partitioned is using Gparted: 1st partition 15GB FAT32; second 1GB EXT3 - no swap.

Used this in my phone. All was fine for a while. Then i started having apps disappear on me. When i tried to re-install the apps the phone would just reboot.

Proceeded to go back the stock 4GB card, no issues.

So i believe its an SD Card problem. However in my pc, i dont have any issue reading this card.

  1. Anybody else experience similar?
  2. Should i get a replacement card?
  3. Anything i might be doing wrong?

I have recently brought the same type of card as yours, and I did note from first set up that the card only showed a max of 14.9gb to start with, could yours be the same and therefore the partition section of 1gb not be there in the first place?

I've had no problems with the card at all, speed when playing films and transferring data is brilliant.

It wasnt exactly 1GB. I made the first partition 15GB, and then whatever was remaining, i set at the second. So dont think that was the issue.

I subsequently deleted those partitions and tried with an approx 15.5 GB FAT32 partition and 512 EXT3 partition. Had the same problems.

May just be a corruption in the previous file system. Assuming you flattened it, try formatting and creating a replacement EXT 4 partition.

I didnt flatten it format it and then recreate the ext parition. However i did try different sizes of the ext 3 partition. Started first with 1Gb ext 3. That gave the usual issues. So i deleted the partitions and went with a 512Mb ext 3 partion.

Wouldnt that be the same as what your suggest?

I might just send this card back to Transcend. I cannot see whats wrong with it, but its definitely causing some issues.
