Hello all,
I don't know if this was brought up before, but would it make sense to mark each "I'm 1st!!!!" post as spam? Google in return should penalize and prevent access to the market for such people for a certain amount of time.
Is this the way to go?

As much as I support this I very much doubt that they would ban people from the market. At the end of the day everyone is a potential customer despite the rubbish that they post up and they would lose a lot of potential custom and could you imagine the complaints T Mobile would get? and customers leaving because they can't access one of the biggest features!!. Ban them from commenting yes, most definitely but I doubt they would get banned completely.

Well, as I originally posted - ban them for a limited time. I would assume this can be automated by google for every comment that is tagged as 'spam' for lets say about 20 times would result in eliminating the comment and banning the commenter from the market for a bit.
Possibly with paid applications, you should be able to comment only if you purchased the application, and then I don't think we'll see alot of '1st's!!!!'.
Just a thought.

If it has nothing to do with commenting on the "app" then to me it gets "spamed".

I dont care if people dont like the "app" or not, thats is the point to the comments.

If the comment says exmpl :"this is how i feel about the app" then it should not be "spamed".

Well - I saw some comments like 'great app. go to blah.blah.com for great ....'. I'd like to tag these as spam and have some action against these type of commenters. The comments area should not be used for promoting anyone like that. That is why I think the '1st's!!!!' should be tagged differently.
On the other hand, if the problem with '1st's!!!' is resolved, maybe some other form of childish comments will surface, so maybe tag as spam IS the right one after all.
What is the purpose of being able to tag comments as spam anyways?

To get rid of comments that have nothing to do with commenting on the apps.

Hard to know what they are thinking of with this feature. If they were concerned with "first" type posts would they not have labeled the button "Report Abuse" or some such, rather than "spam" which most of us consider to be unsolicited advertising. I for one will mark first and nonsense posts as spam, until google somehow provides a defintion for what they consider spam.

Ok then - I don't mind starting doing this. Hope you all join in.

they should just make it fully like YouTube, were you can give a thumbs up, thumbs down on a comment. If a comment gets enough "thumbs down" it gets hidden/minimized so people don't have to read that mess. Especially useful for the "debates" that show up whenever an app has political or religious theme/connection.

Good idea.
I wonder where can we push ideas to Google? I've never found a site for that. Is there such site?
