Root The New LGNPST Lab 1.2 Thread. Now with HD Video!

Well I'm planning on buying my Optimus M this Friday and all I can say is thanks to Andyo. You sir have been completely professional about this entire issue and have gone above and beyond to help everyone out who wants to downgrade.

I'm sure I will end up getting an M with2.2.1(will besurprised if it's not) and I will be using this method myself.

Thanks again Andyo, you are one of many great contributers to this forum.

Andyo70 thank you for you tutorial.
I have just tried this method 2 times step-by-step, exactly as you showed, on two different computers. But unfortunately same result - screen goes black (on 86%, after first reboot, screen goes&stays black, metro greeting sound).

same here.but i also posted in the video comments that when u went to the register the reggie and select run in xp mode,i didnt have that option.my options are:windows 95,98,NT 4.0(service pack 5) and windows 2000..so i just left it alone and it registered fine..but same result..maybe its cause it came standard with 2.2.1???i have no clue why its not working at this point..but thaks a million for this video!

edodonnell has posted up a BIN file in this thread: http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/272153-downgrade-fail-3-times.html#post2250035

Using this instead of the TOT file in my bundle will get you back to a working phone but you'll have 2.2.1 again.

Oh I was always able to restore my phone to a working state with the phone recovery option.but the downgrade method doesn't seem to work on phones that came with 2.2
1.I did my girls phone first try and hers came with 2.2

I'm gonna try it on my 2k8 Enterprise server and see if it works but in the mean time. I've followed your video down to a T, as far as installing LGNPST. As far as my phone, I It is an Optimus M, trust me. It was originally running 2.2 and its 2.2.1 which is why I wanted to revert it back to v3. I just don't understand why it doesn't display the model number but displays MS690ZV4 Com 18. I understand you may say user error to me but everything works except for displaying the model number of the phone. Which leads me to believe its a driver issue. I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate just like yours.

If that occurred them follow these steps:

Component and Generic installers sometime install the newest versions of the files into the 4.0 folder for some reason.

Check in C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\ and make sure there is a folder named "Components 5.0" in there. There should already be folders named "1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0".

If there's no Components 5.0 folder, make one, then go into the Components
4.0 folder where the 5.0 files are probably hiding.

Copy and paste, NOT DRAG AND DROP, all these files from the 4.0 folder into the 5.0 folder:

CommandProcessor5.dll
LGNPST_BaseModel5.dll
LGNPST_BasicComControl5.dll
LGNPST_Command5.dll
LGNPST_DLManager5.dll
LGNPST_EFS5.dll
LGNPST_ERS5.dll
LGNPST_FLASH5.dll
LGNPST_Log5.dll
LGNPST_MemoryTransfer5.dll
LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_NVStorage5.dll
LGNPST_OneBinary5.dll
LGNPST_PortManager5.dll
LGNPST_Script5.dll
LGNPST_Security5.dll
LGNPST_UI5.dll
LGNPST_Utility5.dll
COMRegManager.exe
InstallComList_Root.txt

After you do that, open the InstallComList_Root.txt in the 5.0 folder with a text editor and delete all the text. Then copy and paste all of the following text into it:

C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\CommandProcessor5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_BaseModel5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_BasicComControl5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Command5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_DLManager5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_EFS5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_ERS5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_FLASH5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Log5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_MemoryTransfer5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_NVStorage5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_OneBinary5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_PortManager5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Script5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Security5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_UI5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Utility5.dll

Save the file with this new text in it and things should be fine after that.

Also did you set Reggie.exe to run in XP compatibility mode and did you drag and drop MS690.dll on top of Reggie.exe?

Make sure in "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST" there is a folder called "Model".

Inside should be the following:

Another folder named "MTP"
Inside "MTP" folder should be:
Common_UserSCR_00.scr
MPC_AWS_3014.prl
MS690.dll
MS690_CmdInfo.xml
MS690ZV3_36.S3_36.P3014.tot
MS690ZV3_36.scr
Reggie.exe
Setting.xml
Setup.exe

If these are not present you have not set up LGNPST properly.
