I have yet to have to use this or the other method, but let me be the first to commend you for taking the time to put this together. It is very thorough. If anyone still has problems with their phone let me reiterate: reprogram your phone with LG tools and leave it alone! You tamper at your own risk!!!
Well I'm planning on buying my Optimus M this Friday and all I can say is thanks to Andyo. You sir have been completely professional about this entire issue and have gone above and beyond to help everyone out who wants to downgrade.
I'm sure I will end up getting an M with2.2.1(will besurprised if it's not) and I will be using this method myself.
Thanks again Andyo, you are one of many great contributers to this forum.
Andyo70 thank you for you tutorial.
I have just tried this method 2 times step-by-step, exactly as you showed, on two different computers. But unfortunately same result - screen goes black (on 86%, after first reboot, screen goes&stays black, metro greeting sound).

same here.but i also posted in the video comments that when u went to the register the reggie and select run in xp mode,i didnt have that option.my options are:windows 95,98,NT 4.0(service pack 5) and windows 2000..so i just left it alone and it registered fine..but same result..maybe its cause it came standard with 2.2.1???i have no clue why its not working at this point..but thaks a million for this video!
Oh I was always able to restore my phone to a working state with the phone recovery option.but the downgrade method doesn't seem to work on phones that came with 2.2
1.I did my girls phone first try and hers came with 2.2
Looks like phone can be rooted after LGNPST update with MS690ZV4_26-root.BIN/SCR: MS690ZV3_36.scr/MPC_AWS_3014.prl, but it no longer connects to network - "Mobile network not available". Is there way to fix issue?
I'm having an issue as far as LGNPST recognizing my phone. When I connect it. It display Unknown Model but shows what Software version I am running but gives me no option to to open and browse for the older rom along with my start button being dimmed out. Any Ideas?
I'm gonna try it on my 2k8 Enterprise server and see if it works but in the mean time. I've followed your video down to a T, as far as installing LGNPST. As far as my phone, I It is an Optimus M, trust me. It was originally running 2.2 and its 2.2.1 which is why I wanted to revert it back to v3. I just don't understand why it doesn't display the model number but displays MS690ZV4 Com 18. I understand you may say user error to me but everything works except for displaying the model number of the phone. Which leads me to believe its a driver issue. I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate just like yours.
Component and Generic installers sometime install the newest versions of the files into the 4.0 folder for some reason.
Check in C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\ and make sure there is a folder named "Components 5.0" in there. There should already be folders named "1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0".
If there's no Components 5.0 folder, make one, then go into the Components
4.0 folder where the 5.0 files are probably hiding.
Copy and paste, NOT DRAG AND DROP, all these files from the 4.0 folder into the 5.0 folder:
After you do that, open the InstallComList_Root.txt in the 5.0 folder with a text editor and delete all the text. Then copy and paste all of the following text into it:
I have Components 5 folder in the LGNPST folder and I also set reggie.exe to run in XP Comp Mode. also did MS690.dll on reggie as well and still the same thing.

Well if everything is there and you have the same Windows 7 Ultimate x64 setup as I do it should work flawlessly if you followed everything to the "T".
My time on this matter has pasted it's threshold. Good luck with Win2k8.
I really do appreciate all your help in this matter and everything you have done so far for us. When I get some time, i'll trouble shoot why my main W7 machine won't recognize it but my server does. Thanks once again.
