Root ACV Comic Reader (and other Apps) don't use full screen?

Hi all, just got nook color recently and got it rooted. I downloaded a few comics in CBR format and tried to read with ACV comic reader. Only problem is the size of the window is the size of a window of a phone and it does not expand to take up the full screen size of the nook. I noticed with the mint.com app also. Any fix for this? Other people said ACV worked great, but I can't see it being great when it is using 1/5 of the screen to display the comics! Thanks for any help

What version of Android are you running on that NC? I really don't have an answer for you other than to say that depending on what version of Android you are running, you may get different versions of certain apps from the Android Market.

Someone that said it worked great...find out what version of Android they are running. The hardware doesn't change from one NC to another...so it's got to be a software issue.

I use ACV and it uses the entire screen with no issues. In fact, the only issue I've had is that it does use the entire screen and I can't access menu buttons. I've worked around it with softkeys though.

Hmm.. well I have softkeys, so if it was full screen it would not be an issue. I have froyo 2.2 running as far as I know. Some programs like angry birds are full screen - no problems.

Maybe there is some setting somewhere that needs to be changed. If anyone has any ideas, let me know and I will try.

I tried converting the cbr to epub and open with aldiko reader - it was then full screen, but it doesn't seem in aldiko I could zoom in or out. Maybe there is a better reader for epubs that are graphic intensive that you can zoom in and out (pinch zoom)?

I thought about trying kindle app out but I didn't have my login for amazon handy.

I'm running ACV on my Rooted NC 1.1 (Android 2.1) and it's using the full width of the screen in portrait mode - but I'm using CBZs rather than CBRs.

What I've been doing is using ComicRack to convert CBRs to CBZ, while simultaneously splitting any double pages. CBZ works better with Android than CBR because it can leverage the native ZIP support - and ACV's CBR support is flaky at best.

I do have a couple of books on there where I didn't split the pages - and I do get a smaller image on double page spreads on those books.

I'd suggest giving the CBZ/split page option a try and seeing how that works for you.
