Why buy this with small (4") and crappy LCD screen, when 4.3" Galaxy S 2 is coming, with equal or better specs in every way and a FAR superior Super Amoled Plus screen?

You all were so happy to jump on this phone, and look where it got you now. Obsoleted by Galaxy S 2.

Sure you may be happy now, because you can get the Atrix in a few short days, but you're going to be crying in a month or two, as you're either stuck with an outdated phone, or have to eat the cost to upgrade to the GS2, which will be all over the media by then, and you'll be craving one.

Yeah this phone was the shit, the Android king and you all jumped on the bandwagon...for about 4 weeks, that is...now it's been passed before it even hits store shelves.

Equal or better specs? Since when is 800x480 on 4.3" > 960x540 on 4"? Or 16gig > 16gig? (32g available, yes). 1650mAh > 1930...and with a larger screen to power..???

Far from better in every aspect. And not everyone wants to carry around a tablet sized phone. Not everyone wants TMO. And the phone is still at least a couple of months out....by then there will be the "next big thing" on its way. Keep waiting on it and you'll never upgrade to anything.

You don't want the Atrix...good for you.

This is true but you need to be smart, GS2 likely wont be surpassed for a while, at least a few months, whereas Atrix is already second fiddle.

So by waiting like two months, you'll get top of the line for like a year. Like I said it's about sweet spot and timing. Just like if you bought a Evo or Droid X you had top of the line for a good while, whereas if you bought some other phones, you were passed quickly. Dual core is just coming out so you wont see quad core for like a year at least, so you wont be passed there, you have 1GB of RAM which wont be passed for a while, etc. Yes Atrix has all these things, but also a much inferior screen.

I'm under no illusions the GS2 wont be surpassed one day too, of course it will, but it'll have a much longer life at or near the top. I dont see any spec on the GS2 that I wont be happy with for a long time, whereas if I got an Atrix, I'd just be thinking "dang I wish I had waited for GS2" in two months.

Also not sure what the TMO reference is for I'm sure GS2 is headed to ATT probably before TMO even.

Err, why would I have envy? I'm being smart and waiting a bit for the GS2. If I was picking up an Atrix Sunday, I know I'll just be suffering from huge buyers remorse soon. You Atrix buyers will be the ones suffering envy in 2 months. For now I'm happy with my captivate anyway (which is a good phone despite all the hate) so it's not like I have a burning need to upgrade. Hell honestly if I got an Atrix, initially I'd probably think it was worse than my current Captivate since the screen is LCD, and the dual core stuff isn't something youre going to notice right away.

And why would I have envy if I COULD have a Atrix if I wanted one? That makes no sense. I'm just not going to waste my money on an obsolete phone.
