[VIDEO] HTC Hero rooted with Fresh 1.1 ROM, Custom Lock screen and Nexus Boot

@ Dangerous - That file explorer is called ES File Explorer, it comes already included in the Fresh 1.1 Custom Rom, I haven't seen it anywhere else.

@Green - that phone tab is a new customization from the developer of Fresh Rom 1.1. It's highlights are blue - sweet. and they are currently working to port that "blue" flavor across all selections within the Rom.

The Fresh Roms are so sweet and fast, plus excellent battery life and they removed all the Sprint Bloatware.

Just got this installed and I really like the UI changes. I dig the event bar. Although I would think bluetooth would be red when not connected and blue when connected, but I guess I could hack that change if I wanted.

Only thing speed wise I really notice is that the phone wakes up the instant I press menu. At times with stock rom there would be a 1-3 second delay before the screen would light up to unlock.

Other than that, everything seems the same. Scolling through apps, etc.

Apps do seems to launch a little faster.

+1 to your preference of a Blue=connected Bluetooth thought. I completely agree, plus red in my mind means "needs attention" as in bluetooth is on but not connected.

Anyway, I am glad you guys are enjoying this Rom so much, I have been pushing it in every thread possible, the dev is really cool and responsive to questions and problems, the Roms have been SWEET to date and I think the more and more support these roms get, the better they will become.

Props to the devs, Flipz and Freshyill!!

Its probably the fastest. I really liked the sleek changes to the UI as well. Haven't had any issues with it so far. Plus working with the kitchen is really nice too.

Nice, I think I'm going to upload the fresh ROM today.

Questions though, when adding the new ROM. What exactly will I lose?

Apps? contact list and what else?

And have you had any troubles with Pre-Kitchen 0.1??

Dfresh,

Each Rom is different. Some require what's called a clean install and others do not. Clean install requires wiping device first.

Developers list things like this in their summaries about the speciric roms. From my experience, fresh Rom has always installed on what I aalready have with zero data loss; however you should still perform a backup. Read flipz notes on the Rom page for 1.1 and it should say. Note you will lose most Sprint software... purposefully. Flipz site is geekforme.com or something. Google search "fresh Rom 1.1" and find the page with that in the address.

Nice to see a lot of people are trying out the Fresh ROM. Its overall a lot faster. Apps will be able to run faster aswell. I noticed it particularly with 3D apps running at a faster framerate. As for anyne have trouble with rooting. Just follow the steps exactly and it will work. STart over if it doesnt.
