Paying for ALL apps

Hi

whilst looking at an app demo on youtube, the presenter gave an off the cuff remark that from july this year ALL apps for android were going to be purchase only..

Is this true ?

Cheers

Rich

Check the date one the video "October 23rd, 2008." When the G1 was released Android was still considered beta and every app was free up until last year which is what the review is referring to.

Yep, she didnt actually say all apps would be pay apps, she just said "all the apps currently are free so get them while you can, as they wont be next year"

Ok i googled it.

First up sourceforge.net - a collection of FREE software
second opensource.org - click open source definition and first on the list is "Free Redistribution"
third the wikipedia entry for opensource that states "A main principle and practice of open source software development is peer production by bartering and collaboration, with the end-product (and source-material) available at no cost to the public."
