Hey guys,

I'm more of a web developer than a Java developer, so this game is for playing in the web browser, but I promise it's still pretty cool. I just spent a while programming Mancala, specifically for the G1 at my site, www.g1games.com.

For those of you who haven't heard of or played Mancala, I wrote up a brief synopsis on the page, but it's a fairly simple game and you can also look up the rules on wikipedia.

For those of you who have played Mancala, I'd love some feedback on your thoughts of the game.

At this point, I'm planning on making a multiplayer (2 people on the same g1) or online multiplayer, depending on how much interest is shown in it.

Either way, I'd love to hear what everyone has to say about the game. Let me know if you find any bugs, or somewhere where I may have gotten a rule incorrect.

Thanks,
Dan

Out of curiosity, you have seeqpod listed under G1 apps. . . as far as I know, there's only a WinMo version (as well as the web version) and the browser based version requires Flash 9 (which the G1 doesn't currently support). Am I missing something?

Ahhh. Looks like seeqpod changed their link. New link is www.seeqpod.com/mobile/iphone.php
Confirmed it works with the G1. wOOt!
Yeah, pretty much every web app that works for the iphone works for the G1, since both mobile sofari and mobile chrome are based on webkit.

When a player (player 1) empties their side of the board. Player 2 gains all remaining seeds in players 2s holes. You have this backwards in the G1 version.

Those the rules I play by. Maybe not everyone plays this way? Does anyone play as: when player 1 clears their side of the board player one captures all remaining seeds on player 2s side?

NO! This is wrong. I have emailed the maker to see if he is aware. I learned how to play Mancala from his app, and then got straight embarrased  when i played my coworkers on their phones (blackberry) and the rules were "correct". I don't like this being all janky.
